Very Good The nine of us just spent a wonderful week on board this Hanse 508. The boat itself is a fantastic sailor. I personally have always been a fan of Hanse. This boat easily reached 7 knots of boat speed with just 11/12 knots of wind speed. Achieved a speed of 9.6 knots myself. In terms of comfort and practical design, the boat did disappoint a bit in some areas. The bedroom doors had no magnets to keep them open so they rattled quite violently and the shelves of the cupboards in the kitchen had no edge to keep everything in place. As a result, everything came flying out of the cupboards when you opened them while sailing. The swim platform and swim ladder, on the other hand, was great! I have sailed quite a few charters and the swim ladder was always torture for the feet. The swim ladder on the Hanse 508 is the Rolls Royce among swim ladders. An often underrated feature that can vary the comfort of the trip. This boat also offers Airco but only if the smelly and loud generator is on or if you are in port on 220V. So in practice, the Airco is rarely if ever used. The Airco is also only in the living room, so the bedroom doors have to be open to get cool in the rooms. All in all, a fine sailboat for sailing enthusiasts with good sailing performance and enough space for a large group.
