Colorful alleyway in Lefkas, Greece

Day 1

Check-In Lefkas
Get settled into your floating home after arriving at the base. Alternatively, you could try exploring the town of Lefkas and having a bite at a local restaurant. Fuel, water, trash, laundry, and bathrooms are some of the facilities here.
Preveza during daytime

Day 2

Lefkas - Preveza
Begin your journey by heading north to Preveza, located at the entrance to the Amvrakikos Gulf. Stay overnight on the first day and stroll through the town's lovely waterfront, known as the "volta," or explore the quaint old town with its numerous restaurants. The buoyed channel will guide you safely through the rocky shallows into Preveza. At the end of August, attend the annual Sardine festival featuring live music, wine, beer, and an abundance of grilled sardines. Spend the night at the recently renovated and upscale Preveza Marina. The lead crew will arrange a group meal at one of the town's restaurants.

Day 3

Preveza - Gaios
On the second day, enjoy a scenic and leisurely sail to the island of Paxos, renowned as one of the must-visit destinations in the northern Ionian. The charming capital of Gaios is a true gem, offering breathtaking anchorages set against vivid blue waters. Your lead crew will secure a spot for you on the lively local quay in the town, where you'll drop anchor and moor stern-to for the evening. Explore the traditional and quaint surroundings, including the medieval fort of Ay Nikolaos that guards the harbor, and browse handmade and painted pottery. Experience the excitement of Greek dancing, often performed on a fire-lit floor with swords. Approach the harbor from either the north or south of Ay Nikolaos, making sure to check the depths, as it's shallow to the south. Before dinner, join the gin and tonic party, then choose from the numerous dining options. This evening's harbor fees include water and electricity.

Day 4

Gaios - Sivota Mourtos
Today, take a relaxed sail with a lunch stop either in Paxos before departing or at one of the nearby bays close to your destination for the evening. The main harbor is charming and a popular holiday destination, with plenty of villas and hotels nestled in the hills. Moor stern-to the dock using your anchor and enjoy a delicious meal at the family-owned taverna of George and his family. If the weather allows, check out the ruins of the monastery perched above the harbor approach on your port side, with a picturesque bay below. This evening, there will be harbor fees, and both electricity and water will be available.

Day 5

Free sailing day
For a unique experience, consider visiting Fanari Bay south of Parga, where you can anchor and enjoy the freedom of swinging. The bay is located at the end of the Acheron River, known as the entrance to Hades and the River of Styx, and offers boat trips up the river. For those seeking adventure, there are also kayaking trips available. Fanari Bay is a peaceful local area with restaurants serving freshly caught fish. Another option is Mongonnissi in Paxos, located south of the island, offering both docking options and the opportunity to anchor freely. The only amenities in the bay are a charming taverna run by Pan and Theo on the water's edge, making it a quiet or lively experience depending on the day.

Day 6

Parga or Mongonissi
On Friday, visit Parga, famous for its castle towering over the town. The castle, believed to have Venetian roots, has been mentioned as early as 1337 and is known for its formidable fortifications. The town is divided by the castle, with boats mooring in the bay of Valtou to the north. Be sure to have adequate water supplies, as there may not be any facilities available in the evening, including free anchoring or mooring bow-to the beach. Parga is a beautiful location surrounded by pine trees, accessible by walking over the hill past the castle or taking a dinghy or a lively kayiki ferry. After a day away from the flotilla, the lead crew will organize a group meal at a local taverna. The town offers great shopping, particularly for local leather and lace products.

Day 7

Back to Lefkas
On the last day, your journey ends with a trip to Lefkas Marina through the floating bridge. You can take a last swim in one of the bays north of Preveza before returning to base. The lead boat will arrange either a dinner or drinks ashore to celebrate the week's activities, with prizes being awarded. As you make your way back, savor the stunning sail and scenery one last time.
