The English Flotilla Guidance
Of course, a successful sailing holiday depends on the weather, the sun, the sea and the flotilla guidance. In addition to conviviality, safety is of course crucial during the sailing holiday.
During the Vis flotilla, professional English-speaking guidance is available on the mothership, who are always ready for mooring and anchoring. These flotilla leaders may also be residents, but will always have good English language skills. In addition, they plot the route (with input from the participants) and monitor the weather for everyone. Of course, they enjoy it a lot themselves and are always looking forward to giving you a great experience in Croatia as well.

Day 1
Check in in Marina Agana
Marina Agana is a typical Croatian fishing village, made up of traditional white stone houses surrounding a sparkling Agana marina. Marina Agana is only a 20-minute drive from Split Airport. While waiting for boarding after check-in, guests can have lunch at one of the restaurants, stock up on supplies or simply head to the beach with a coffee or cocktail. Get ready for an exciting trip to Krka National Park.
Day 2
Marina Agana - Drvenik Veli
After a light breakfast briefing, sail out and get your crew accustomed to life on board - your first stop is just a short hop away (about 1 hour, 7 nautical miles). Enjoy swimming, exploring and sailing, then meet up with your crew in the tiny village of Drvenik Veli, on the island of the same name. Nearby you'll find a small sandy beach (a rarity in Croatia!) and the popular Blue Lagoon with its crystal-clear water.
Day 3
Drvenik Veli - Zlarin
Today (about 1.5 hours, 23 nautical miles) you sail to Zlarin, the only village on the small island of the same name, at the mouth of the Krka river. The island is famous for its tradition of coral harvesting - visit the small museum and coral jewellery shop dedicated to it. Cars are banned here, giving the island a special, tranquil charm. Just across the channel lies Prvić, home to a museum dedicated to Croatian inventor Faust Vrančić, the first person to jump with a parachute.
Day 4
Zlarin - Žirje
Get off the beaten track and sail (about 1 hour, 9 nautical miles) into the island-packed archipelago of Šibenik, all the way to the most remote island: Žirje. On its south side, the flotilla will raft up for the night among rugged bays, ideal for exploring, snorkelling, hiking and stargazing. A small restaurant further up the bay serves beautiful home-made cuisine with freshly caught fish and home-grown vegetables, and a short hike takes you to an old abandoned fortress.
Day 5
Free sailing day
Your first free sailing day is your chance to set your own agenda and explore the Adriatic on your own or with a small group. Motor up the Krka river to the ancient Roman town of Skradin and visit the mesmerising waterfalls of Krka National Park, or stay in the Šibenik archipelago and continue the easy island-hopping pace. For those who want to rack up the miles, head into the Kornati Islands National Park and practise tacking and jibing between small islands and reefs.
Day 6
Rogoznica
Meet up with your flotilla friends in the large, sheltered harbour of Rogoznica on the Croatian mainland. This well-protected town has a compelling legend about a dragon in a lake, a lavender labyrinth on the top of the hill, and numerous walking, hiking and cycling paths. Walk to Dragon's Eye - a salt lake where in summer you'll see locals cliff-jumping - or relax with a drink at the waterfront.
Day 7
Free sailing days 2 & 3 - Vis
On these two days the one-week flotilla guests head back to base, but for our Vis sailors the best part of the holiday is only just beginning. The weekend is the best time to visit the mesmerising island of Vis, and we suggest spending both free sailing days around its shores. Simply sailing the roughly 30 nautical miles across open water is a delight. Once there, choose between wreck diving, wine tasting, sampling legendary meals like traditional peka or lobster specialities, scootering across the island, visiting the Blue or Green Cave, sunbathing on sandy beaches, or taking the island military tour.
Day 8
Maslinica, Šolta
On Sunday you meet your lead crew again, now in Maslinica on the quiet island of Šolta (about 1.5 hours, 11 nautical miles). This popular sailors' spot is dominated by a beautiful old castle (now a luxury hotel) and its recently renovated marina. Maslinica is known for boasting some of the clearest water in the Adriatic, with a number of secluded rocky beaches along the pine-clad coastline.
Day 9
Milna, Brač
Let the wind fill your sails and guide you past the headland into the Adriatic, heading for Brač and the town of Milna (about 4 hours, 20 nautical miles). Milna's network of ancient streets hides a number of excellent shops and restaurants. Nestled in a sheltered bay on the western coast of Brač, Milna is known for its relaxed atmosphere, traditional stone buildings and beautiful waterfront promenade. Swimming in the bay near the quiet Marina Vlaška is a refreshing way to spend a hot Croatian afternoon.
Day 10
Jelsa, Hvar
Sail southeast to the island of Hvar (about 4.5 hours, 22 nautical miles). Cruise along Hvar's beautiful coastline studded with rolling hills and lush forests until you reach Jelsa, nestled between mountains in a lovely bay. Fall in love with Jelsa's old-world charm and explore the picturesque waterfront. Jelsa is known for its food, so find a konoba (restaurant) and sample the delicious fresh seafood and local Hvar wines. Along the way you can stop at the cove of Smrka, with a huge entrance to an abandoned submarine shelter to explore.
Day 11
Free sailing day - Vis
The free sailing day is your chance to visit any sights you were longing to see that aren't on the flotilla itinerary. Set sail for the well-known Hvar town and overnight in a busy marina, or pick up a buoy in the southern Vinogradišće bay and soak in the numerous beach clubs. If you want to sail further afield, you and your crew can also head to the island of Vis - a great place to explore and a chance to rack up a few blue-water miles along the way.
Day 12
Šesula, Šolta
Šesula is a sheltered bay on the western side of Šolta island, the perfect overnight stop. The flotilla regroups here in a raft, using the free mooring buoys of a restaurant where you can enjoy delicious food. An ideal, relaxed way to round off your sailing weeks before returning to base tomorrow.
Day 13
Šesula - Marina Agana
Sail into the Adriatic once more, putting the island of Šolta behind you as you return to Marina Agana (about 1.5 hours, 11 nautical miles). Remember all the fun moments at the prize-giving party in the base in the evening. Take the time to explore Split further, relaxing on the popular promenade or searching the local markets for a few Croatian keepsakes. Make the most of your final day and soak up as much of the atmosphere as you can.

Where should I fly if I want to sail in this flotilla?
The Marina is easily accessible from Split Airport. From here, it is about a 25-minute taxi ride. Tubber can help you arrange a transfer with our new service.
When does Vis' flotilla sail?
The Vis flotilla is a two-week flotilla departing on Sunday. In 2026 it sails in September and early October; in 2027 it sails weekly from late May to early October. Contact your Tubber sailing holiday expert for the exact departure dates.
Do I need a boat license to participate in a flotilla?
When you go bareboat sailing in Croatia, you must own a valid boating license. License 1 is a minimum, and License 2 is desired. If you want to sail in our flotilla, you do not need to have a valid sailing license - we can prepare a temporary sailing CV for you that is accepted locally.
Is Vis' flotilla suitable for children?
The sailing conditions are very favourable and the area is perfect for a bit of sailing, catching a bay and sailing again. This is therefore ideal for sailing with (young) children! There is also a lot to do, and many young adults can indulge in the various entertainment options.
What are the average daily distances of the Vis flotilla?
Daily distances during the Vis flotilla range from roughly 7 to 23 nautical miles, with a single longer crossing to the remote island of Vis. All subject to weather conditions and the wishes of the group, of course.

Do I sail independently in a flotilla or always with the group?
In the flotilla, you sail under the pleasure and convenience of an experienced mothership. You are not expected to constantly sail in a group. Feel free to take a dip in a self-discovered bay, for example.
