For some sailing areas you need a boat license to rent a sailing yacht or catamaran. If you are not entirely sure whether you have the right papers to rent a sailing yacht, please contact our service desk without any obligation. The rule in most countries is that a boat license is required if you want to rent a boat. Many boats are also available with a skipper, so you do not need any experience to rent a boat in the sunny south. Countries where you can't rent a yacht without a license (ICC) are:
Boat rental Croatia
Boat rental Spain
Some countries are less strict. In these countries you can rent a boat faster without a license, but you must be able to demonstrate that you have sufficient experience. This can be a certificate from a sailing school, proof from a previous tenant. Countries such as Italy, France and Turkey often ask if you want to fill in a document with your experiences in the form of a kind of sailing/sailing resume. In the countries below you can often rent a boat without a license.
Boat rental Greece
Boat rental France
Boat rental Italy
Boat rental Turkey
Within our range of yachts in Europe we have a very nice group of female and male skippers available. You can choose to get a Dutch skipper or local skippers.
The Mediterranean Sea is an intercontinental sea that separates Europe from Africa. It is also called the ancient “sea between the lands” as well as “the incubator of Western civilization.”The Mediterranean Sea is connected with to the Atlantic Ocean by the narrow Strait of Gibraltar, with the Black Sea through the Dardanelles, with the Sea of Marmara, by the strait of the Bosporus and with the Red Sea by the Suez Canal. The most favorable and well-known locations in the Mediterranean are the Ionian Islands, in Greece, mainly due to the fact that the ports of Lefkas and Meganisi are so quiet, and together with the warm weather, they make for the perfect sailing experience. Furthermore, Corfu, Mallorca, and the calm waters and light winds of the Saronic Gulf are very suitable for novice sailors and for anyone who wants to enjoy a wonderful holiday on the water.
Croatia is located on the Adriatic Sea and is the pre-eminent sailing destination in Europe. You have every opportunity to enjoy island hopping over azure blue water and to visit the many beautiful coastal towns. The coastline is interspersed with steep chalk cliffs, pebble beaches and forests. In fact, its coastal waters are among the cleanest in the entire Mediterranean! More than a thousand islands with beautiful coves and rocks, ancient ruins and beautiful Mediterranean landscapes make Croatia a paradise for sailors. Croatia has invested in modern ports with all the facilities we are used to in Western Europe. They therefore form a pleasant change from the untouched nature and deserted bays of Croatia. The local tourist office speaks of the European Caribbean, but that is too much credit for the islands on the other side of the ocean, because Croatia is more beautiful for sailing! Countless islands and more than six thousand kilometers of coastline.
Greece is the ideal place to rent a boat for your sailing holiday. Idyllic is a Greek word for a reason. Sailing along the ancient Greek coast with a sailing yacht, doing nothing for days, eating in the evenings in the taverns of small villages. The cloudless sky and stable winds in the Ionian Sea will do the rest. With many different and diverse destinations, there is always something to discover for the beginner, but also for the experienced sailor. Sailing in Greece is a multitude of beautiful islands with a rich history, beautiful sheltered bays and good sailing weather. Greece guarantees a unique sailing experience.
Italy should of course not be forgotten among the sailing destinations. Not only the country itself, but also the coastal regions are a real attraction. Italy has the charm of a varied nature, culture, excellent cuisine and the lively temperament of the Italian people. Along the entire eastern coast, plus the islands of Sicily and Sardinia, Tubber offers yachts for bareboat and flotilla purposes. In particular, Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast and Sardinia are beautiful destinations that are easy to travel and where a wide range of yachts is available. Being in the middle of the Mediterranean, Italy has one of the world's best climates for sailing. With rugged cliffs, picturesque coves and beautiful islands such as Elba and Procida, the Italian coast has no shortage of beautiful sights.
Enjoy a unique sailing experience in Turkey. The Turkish Riviera is an exotic location that can be explored by catamarans or yacht charter. Spanning Europe and Asia, this country is beautiful, with a Mediterranean feel and an oriental influence. Turkey is located at the crossroads of the Balkans, the Caucasus, the Middle East and the Eastern Mediterranean. Almost the entire country is located in Asia, consisting of the elongated peninsula of Asia Minor, also called Anatolia (Anadolu). As you cruise along the vast coastline, luxury resorts interspersed with small fishing villages, secluded coves and beautiful ruins greet you.
You can also sail flotilla in the Mediterranean. For example, go to Greece, Croatia, Italy or Turkey. A flotilla is ideal for both novice and experienced sailors. You are indeed on a journey of discovery independently, but you can always count on the support of the professional and pleasant flotilla leadership of the Tubber team.
