The flotilla from Lefkas lets you discover the treasures of the Ionian Sea. Explore dramatic rocky cliffs, private beaches, ancient fortresses and fragrant pine forests, while the sheltered harbour of Lefkas leads to the gentle waters of the Ionian Sea, where the islands of Kefalonia and Meganisi are waiting to be explored.
This flotilla is ideal for anyone looking for reasonable and easy sailing conditions who'd like to discover Greece — a great way to scale up from inland waters to the sea. A 1-week flotilla departs every Saturday; once a year, in summer, we also offer a 2-week route that continues on towards the island of Zakynthos.

The Flotilla Guidance
Of course, a successful sailing holiday depends on the weather, the sun, the sea and the flotilla guidance. In addition to conviviality, safety is of course critical during the sailing holiday.
During the Lefkas flotilla, there's professional guidance available on the mother ship, who are always ready for mooring and anchoring. They also plot the route (with input from the participants) and keep an eye on the weather for everyone.
The guidance can differ per week, but one thing is certain: they're all eager to give you a great sailing experience in Greece.

Day 1
Check in at Lefkas
Your unforgettable flotilla holiday begins on mythical Lefkas - an island central to Greek mythology, especially Homer's Odyssey. Lefkas is known for its water sports, with windsurfing, kitesurfing and paragliding being particularly popular in the region. The old Venetian fortress of Agia Mavra is always worth a visit.
Day 2
Lefkas - Vathi, Meganisi
Follow the breakwater out of the marina of Lefkas, past the small islet of Forti and into the Ionian Sea. The first leg of your flotilla journey takes you south along the length of the island of Lefkas to small, green Meganisi, which is believed to be part of the kingdom of Odysseus in Homeric mythology. The town of Vathi is home to one of the world's largest natural harbours and is a beautiful place to dock for the night.
Day 3
Vathi - Vasiliki, Lefkas
Sail from the crescent-shaped Meganisi Island to the south coast of Lefkas. Bypass the steep headland and head to the huge Vasiliki Bay. Vasiliki is known for one thing: windsurfing. Strong thermal winds ensure Vasiliki offers one of the best windsurfing opportunities in all of Greece. If you prefer land-based thrills, mountain biking in the surrounding hills is great fun.
Day 4
Vasiliki - Fiscardo, Kefalonia
It is a straight line from Vasiliki Bay to the famous island of Kefalonia. Enjoy a few miles of exciting open-water sailing as you head to one of Greece's most famous islands, best known for Captain Corelli, olive oil and ancient history. The port of Fiscardo is a traditional Greek island village where you can spend a quiet afternoon at one of many restaurants and tavernas.
Day 5
Fiscardo - free sailing day
Now that you've had time to familiarize yourself with your yacht, a free day's sailing is your chance to explore the Ionian Sea at your leisure. From Fiscardo you can explore the numerous coves and beaches of sleepy Kefalonia, while a short sail takes you to Ithaca, said to be the birthplace of Odysseus. Your lead crew is on hand with recommendations and the latest weather reports.
Day 6
Abelike Bay
Abelike Bay on the north side of Meganisi is a large, natural bay that has hardly been touched by human hands. Swim and snorkel in the warm waters of the bay, and enjoy one last beachside barbecue with your new flotilla friends as the sun dips below the horizon.
Day 7
Abelike Bay - Lefkas
Cruise through the undisturbed waters of Abelike Bay as you head north to our Lefkas base. Back in Lefkas, your last day is a chance to take in all the Ionian highlights you've missed so far, try one of the popular water sports, or wind down with an ouzo at a quiet taverna.

Checking out
Today is the last day of the Lefkas flotilla. If you fly at the end of the day, you can still explore Lefkas.
Frequently asked questions
From where does the Lefkas flotilla depart?
The flotilla departs from Lefkas city. Here, you have the public harbour and Lefkas Main Port, where most of Tubber's partners are located. It's also possible to join from Preveza, Nikiana or Palairos.
Where should I fly if I want to sail in this flotilla?
Lefkas is easily accessible from Preveza Airport. From here, it's about a 30-minute taxi ride. Tubber can help you arrange a transfer.
Do I need a boat license to participate in this flotilla?
No, you do not necessarily need a license to sail in a flotilla. For example, you can also hire a skipper to do the sailing. In Greece, it is not mandatory to have a License I or License II if you want to sail yourself. But some rental companies may ask for it. In most cases, a certificate (CV) with sailing experience is sufficient.
Is the Lefkas flotilla suitable for children?
Yes, we at Tubber often refer to Lefkas and the surrounding area as the beginner's area for sailors. The sailing conditions are very favourable and the area is perfect for a bit of sailing, catching a bay and sailing again. This is ideal for sailing with (young) children! There is also a lot to do, and many young adults can indulge in the various entertainment options.
What are the average daily distances of the flotilla in Lefkas?
The average daily distances during the Lefkas flotilla are between 12 and 18 miles. Outside the high season (when fewer children are travelling), longer day distances are often planned. All subject to weather conditions and the wishes of the group, of course.
Which bays, islands and harbours will the Lefkas flotilla visit?
The area offers many options. There is a multitude of bays and picturesque harbours. We often try to visit small Vathi, Vasiliki and Ithaca. On the two-week route in the summer, we also continue on towards Zakynthos.
Do I sail independently in a flotilla or always with the group?
In the flotilla, you sail under the pleasure and convenience of an experienced mothership. You are not expected to constantly sail in a group. Feel free to take a dip in a self-discovered bay, for example.
