The Heineken Regatta has established itself as a mature international sailing event and continues to extend its influence, deeply rooted in St. Martin's rich island culture. Its growing significance and participation are now an integral part of local traditions, and the regatta acts as a unifying element between sailors from around the world and the unique charm of the island. With each year, the Heineken Regatta expands its influence, making it not only an exciting sporting event, but also a celebration that reflects the diversity and hospitality of St. Martin.

How did the Heineken Regatta come about?

Like many regattas, this event began as a friendly race between a small group of friends. After a few years, the local Heineken importer noticed the positive impact on beer sales. As a result, the importer decided to sponsor the event. Now the Heineken Regatta takes place annually in March, with more than 150 yachts and 500 spectators from all over the world.
Let your adventure begin with the support of the Caribbean Yachting Association, taking part in four exciting races spread over three intense days. Explore various routes, experience the thrill of racing across the Anguilla Channel and enjoy a breathtaking circumnavigation of the enchanting island. Heineken regatta 2025

From Wednesday, March 5 to Sunday, March 9, 2025, St. Martin will be the focus of this splashing sailing event. On Wednesday, registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and lasts until 6 p.m. at the Race Village. Thursday, Friday and Saturday are race days, with the first race starting at 9:55 a.m. in Simpson Bay. At the St. Maarten Yacht Club, there are bridge shows at 8:30 a.m. for departing boats and at 3:00 & 5:00 p.m. for incoming boats. The Regatta Village at Port de Plaisance opens at 3 p.m., with daily awards ceremonies at 6 p.m. The last day, Sunday, is the grande finale with the first race at 09:55, bridge shows and the opening of the Regatta Village at 15:00, followed by the Grand Prize-giving at 18:00. An adrenaline-boosting sailing event with a celebration on Sunday!
