Poor Gael is a somewhat older ship, nice and spacious, though the steering under sail was very heavy, so heavy that I was afraid something would break (if we applied even more power). strange was that the steering didn't run particularly heavy when stationary. Definitely annoying in a high wind environment, then you want the ship/steering not to be a worry. Other issue was that the gas alarm went off. we did not find a cause (did ventilate and turn off the tap) the lessor (apparently) recognised this problem and said they had replaced the hoses (maybe leakage somewhere else?). Challenging sailing area with very variable (both direction and strength) winds. Ports you need to book in advance however it is difficult to get in touch and if you do get in touch they often do not speak English. In short there are other areas more suitable for the family, make sure you are prepared and on board with guests who know what they can do.
