The boat was 10 years old and it showed. Both the boat and its fittings were worn out; things were loose or missing, and the mooring lines and sheets were damaged and frayed. The rail on the mast was broken and needed repairing. That took us half a day, so we couldn’t set off until the following day. The fridge didn’t work unless it was very noisy, so we had to switch it off at night. The gas hob could only be lit with matches or a lighter, which resulted in a lot of sore fingers. Furthermore: a broken sail batten, the VHF radio lead had been repaired with sticky tape, and the binoculars were broken. In short, this boat should have been taken out of the rental fleet long ago.

Quick and well organised, a great instructor and a friendly, helpful harbour master. The boat was in good condition; a few bits and pieces needed replacing or repairing, but this was pointed out at the start and didn’t cause us any trouble. Definitely worth doing again.

This 440 is an owner’s version and has everything on board. For a small fee, you can have the forward twin cabin converted into a single cabin. Very handy.

We had a wonderful sailing trip in Croatia. The welcome and service at Yala Yachting were excellent. We also sailed through a lovely Bora – that’s simply part and parcel of a trip in northern Croatia, the Kvarner region. A great boat, great weather, a great atmosphere – what more could you ask for? The Rabia was clean, well-maintained and fast. This yacht comes highly recommended, as do the charter agency and, of course, the sailing area. Many thanks to Tubber!

THE CHARTER COMPANY WERE VERY EFFICIENT AT BOTH CHECK IN AND CHECK OUT. EVERYBODY WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND VERY HELPFUL. I WOULD DEFINATELY RECCOMEND KEKERIS YACHTING. THE BOAT HAD A FEW MINOR NIGGLES AS YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM A CHARTER YACHT SUCH AS HINGE PINS STICKING OUT, THE CHART PLOTTER PACKED UP WITH 2 DAYS TO GO, THE FRIDGE HAD A SMELL OF FISH AND THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE BILGE SOMEWHERE. THE BOAT SAILED WELL AND WAS WELL LAID OUT OVERALL.

The local team was great. Very friendly. Small details that didn’t work were more due to the end of season. The boat sailed very well and all the important bits worked exactly as needed (motors, sails, GPS, electrics, anchor, AC, fridge, heads, etc). My only reason for not giving a five star - the dinghy was subpar. Lacking any keel structure and with a weak outboard it was hard to handle with four people on board. Given the boat is 10pax the outboard was overheated by the time it finished its third trip. Don’t need a bigger (heavier) outboard, just some keel in the rib.

When we had problems with the bow thruster on the first day, we had to take matters into our own hands with the boat hire company. We rang Tubber, but they said there was nothing they could do. The flotilla leader also said it was just a case of bad luck and couldn’t do anything about it either. We really do wonder what an organisation like Tubber actually adds to the boat hire experience.We’d specifically requested that the separate sleeping compartments at the bow be converted into a single sleeping compartment. We’d even paid 150 euros for this. When we arrived, this hadn’t been sorted either. There were also many minor faults with the boat. We were unable to use the dinghy for two weeks because the outboard motor wasn’t working. All in all, a disappointing experience, certainly given the amount we paid for two weeks on this boat.

The Peperi is a beautiful, modern boat. Everything can be controlled from the cockpit, even the anchor. Everything was absolutely fine!

Last week, we hired a sailing boat in Lefkada, Greece, through Tubber. Everything had been well organised in advance by Tubber, and the charter company provided a smooth, clear and professional check-in. Unfortunately, a few faults with the boat came to light during our holiday. The anchor broke, but the charter company sorted this out the very same day. That was a quick and effective solution. In addition, not all the 12V sockets were working, the second toilet was faulty (non-return valve) and the dinghy’s engine broke down. The charter company has promised compensation for this via WhatsApp; this is still to be finalised. Oh, and the ladder on the swimming platform broke off. The boat’s battery wasn’t in the best condition either. As a result, the alarm went off regularly and we had to leave the engine running to recharge the battery. Despite these issues, we generally look back on our holiday fondly. Communication with the owner was pleasant and problems were dealt with quickly wherever possible. We would certainly consider renting a sailing boat through Tubber again, but perhaps a different make or a catamaran next time.

Great two weeks on Ioanna. Nice 80m chain and a great engine. Not the best equipped yacht but this is our second charter of Ioanna and would charter again. The easiest yacht to moor and fun to sail.

A good flotilla leader who organised everything well. Lovely bays and mooring spots in the evenings. On the first day, the electrical part of the cooling system broke down. It was repaired, but it did cost us a day’s sailing. Then the electrical system for the anchor chain broke down, meaning we had to keep switching the fuses on and off every 10 metres of chain. On the last day, the bow thruster broke down. It’s an old boat, but there were simply too many faults to pass on to the next group of hirers. We have serious doubts as to whether the boat will be repaired before the next group sets off. We expect compensation from Tubber.

Overall very dissapointed in the state of the boat and the attitude of the operator when highlighting these issues. There were a number of issues with our boat which really should have been noticed by the operator and dealt with before we left port. It is impossible to do a full inspection when initially given the boat. In fact we were encouraged to sign the detiled acceptance schedule as they seemed pushed for time. For example there was no tool box on board. This should have been identified at the initial inspection. The list of issues that I presented to the operator on our returm was lengthy but they seemed unintersted in our concerns and more intersted in looking at ways of charging us for damages. In the end we ended up paying 600 euros to cover a bump at the stern of the boat which was a direct result of the bow thrusters failing whilst mooring in stormy consitions. They also charged for some alledged damage to the genoa. Again the fact there had been no initial inspection of the sails (unlike when we arrived back in port) concerns us. List of issues which should be addressed before anyone esle rents this boat: 1. External seat cushions were not fixed down. All the fixings were broken. As a result people ended up sliding foward and hitting the table when out sailing. One of the crew badly bruise thier knee in such an incident. When we raised this point to the operator they suggested it was our fault for sitting that way. No back cushions on the seats so very uncomfortable whilst sailing. No cushion on the helm seats. Not great for 7 days. 2. The tender floor boards were broken. This made it dangerous when getting on and off the tender. We did no use the tender after the fist day as we considered it too dangerous. Luckily we were sailing with anthoer boat so we used their tender after that. 3. One of the winch handles didn't lock in. We were lucky not to lose it over board on a couple of occasions. 4. No tool box on board. Lukily we were able to borrow tools from our other boat to mend some other annoying/smaller issues. 5. The jam cleats for the genoa sheets were not fit for purpose and did not lock off the sheets when under strain. I suspect they were designed for thinner rope. As a result we had to keep the sheets attached to the winchs whenever possible but his wasn't always possible with the resultant flapping genoa when you least expect it. This may have contrubuted to the alledged damage to the genoa. 6. Smaller but annoying issues include: no plug in the kitchen sink (not great when washing up); Fridge door hinges were loose so the catch to keep it closed whilst sailing didn't work; insufficient pillow cases for the number of pillows; Wall bracket for the shower head in one of the showers was missing; One of the bedroom handles kept falling off; The top of the gangplannk was bloacked by the railing at the stern. As a result you had to climb over/around to get on and off the boat. Not great! The other boat in our group (Luna) was the same model but didn't have these issues.

We just completed a week out of Athens, visiting Vathi, Poros, Ermioni & Porto Kheli. We have been going for over 20 years but will not be back. The number of yachts and the average yacht size cruising the area has grown exponentially and it has become a dogfight to find a parking spot in most harbours. You have to be in for 1pm if you want to tie up. Forget Hydra & Spetses completely - they had actually closed Hydra by 11am & wouldn’t let us in for a look. There are more marinas planned for Athens that will add even more boats to the problem. Hermes is a 2014 boat and she is tired. She needs a major refit. Toilets blocked x2, windows leaking, transom/swimming platform broken, dinghy leaking. However, she got us round safely. The management team were really good and got the toilet sorted very quickly. We will be booking a different cruising area in future.

A lovely young boat, well-equipped. However, the cushions and mattresses were very dirty. The bow thruster controls were of poor quality, which meant it was unreliable.

A lovely, spacious boat for the three of us on board. 1 electric winch, very handy. We also enjoyed the furling mainsail and jib. Unfortunately, the utility battery failed, but it was replaced en route by the base manager via RIB. However, there were no fans in the cabins, which I have had on other boats and which are particularly useful on warm evenings and nights.

A wonderful sailing experience in a fantastic area with beautiful bays. We spotted dolphins and turtles along the way. The flotilla leader knows all the lovely bays, harbours and restaurants. He’s always on hand to help with mooring and any (technical) problems.

I found the initial service when you were finding the yacht and planning the trip excellent. It felt less good close to yacht pick up time with very limited communication and I was unable to contact the 'Base Manager'. We found the yacht in the marina and determined that it was 'Sea and More' who were managing it and they provided a good service.

We recently hired a sailing yacht in Croatia for the seventh time through Tubber. As always, the service was brilliant. The booking process is very clear from start to finish, and you simply get exactly what you expect. There’s a wide choice of yachts and departure ports. Highly recommended. We’ll be back again next year! Thank you for another wonderful holiday.

Onlangs voor de 7e keer via Tubber een zeiljacht in Kroatië gehuurd. Zoals altijd weer geweldig geholpen. Alles is van a tot z heel duidelijk in het boekingsproces, en je krijgt gewoon wat je verwacht. Veel keuze on jachten en starthavens. Dikke aanrader. Wij komen volgend jaar weer terug! We rented the Beneteau Oceanus 40.1 Monterey through Tubber and it was rented from Vernicos Yachts in Lefkas Marina. However Vernicos yachts are in the “ blue memories” office but that was not communicated. When we got to the boat there were cleaning staff sat smoking in the cock pit! The bedding sheets didn’t fit the beds and we had to get the correct size sheets to fit the beds. Nicos was brilliant in getting everything sorted. We wanted the bed/ table converted in the saloon. He went out of his way to get the correct size legs to enable this. He was also very helpful throughout the charter and available on the phone. The gangway is just a plank but it works fine. Otherwise a great boat. Easy to sail and very comfortable. We were not the only ones to provision for evening dinners. This was not required on our flotilla as we ate at restaurants every night. It would have been nice to know this before we went shopping. A great flotilla though and we will be back for more. Thanks to Simo for a great trip.

We had a brilliant week. We’d actually hired a different, slightly smaller boat, but on arrival we were given a free upgrade to a newer boat that was 5 feet longer. This boat (Rewi) was in excellent condition. The only downside I could mention is that the anchor chain is quite short. I’d estimate about 40 metres, which isn’t ideal for anchoring in deeper bays. The service from Navigare Yachting was good; Isabella was very responsive and helpful. The check-in and check-out were quick and fairly straightforward. They weren’t strict at all.
