I expected some minor faults when chartering an older yacht, but Charoula was chartered to us with major faults, not fit for charter. The engine did not reliably engage the propeller (sometimes immediately, sometimes over ten minutes before it would engage); the windlass operated Up but not Down, so we had no control when dropping the anchor and this resulted in us getting the anchor chain tangled.
There were also unpleasant problems, such as the foot-operated tap for the sink discharging foul water into the sink, and the heads not flushing reliably till I fixed them.
We had delayed starts on several mornings of our week on board, either in chandlers or awaiting engineers or technicians, which affected our itinerary.
We have requested compensation from Tubber and only been offered E100 off if we charter with them again - which we would NEVER do.
I can recommend other charter companies, but NOT Tubber, the worst experience I've ever had.
