The Moody 45 is an amazing deck-saloon yacht, ideal for family holidays yet still fast enough to get some thrills. I spent 6days on the boat with 5 inexperienced crew (2 moms, dad, wife and 2yr old daughter). It was very easy to operate the boat as a day-skipper. Don’t expect too much sailtrim control from the selftacking jib, but it sure is convenient. Powerful bowtruster and 110bhp engine makes the boat very manouverable in tight harbours. The front view is ofcourse more obstructed than usual by the decksaloon, but you learn to deal with this relatively fast. The design of the boat with it’s relatively high and closed sideboards make it a child-friendly boat. Dingy below aft-deck not ideal but this allows for open/spacious rearview. We will definitely return one day, for some more smiling days.
