During the one-week or two-week Tubber flotillas from Athens, you can sail along on the mothership of the flotilla.
You will sail to the Saronic islands of Aegina, Poros, and Hydra. It is a perfect sailing area for short distances, there is often a constant and reliable win,d and beautiful islands.
These sunny Saronic Gulf flotillas always start on Saturdays from Alimos, the largest marina in Athens. The wind is quite constant during this period, with gusts between 3 and 5 Beaufort.
Do you have little or no sailing experience yourself, or aren't yet experienced enough to stand behind the helm independently? Then, we also offer cabin charter holidays.
You sail aboard the mothership in the flotilla, alone or with family/friends. So, you sail along under the direct supervision of experienced skippers. The flotilla leaders, your skippers, will often be busy in the morning. They help the other boats on their way and inform them of the route they will take that day. For you, this means a moment to yourself until they are ready. Feel free to enjoy a nice breakfast on the terrace, go swimming, or go shopping.
When all or most of the boats have sailed, you also leave. The flotilla leader will often be the last to depart the harbour but likes to be the first to return to its destination to help the other flotilla yachts dock again.
During the day, you often sail for about 4 to 5 hours, possibly anchoring in between for a refreshing dive or snorkelling session. The destination is, therefore, different every day. One time, you are in a gorgeous village, and the other time, you spend the night in a clear blue bay. The group will regularly have a bite to eat together in the evening, which is also an excellent opportunity for the children and teenagers present to catch up.
Of course, a successful sailing holiday depends on the weather, the sun, the sea and the flotilla guidance. In addition to conviviality, safety is of course very important during the sailing holiday.
During your cabin charter holiday you will sail with professional Dutch-speaking guidance on the mother ship. They also plot the route (with input from the participants) and keep an eye on the weather for everyone.
During these weeks it differs who you sail with. However, they're all eager to give you a great experience in Greece.
