There are a variety of beautiful places to visit on a sailing trip in the Amalfi Coast. The town of Amalfi itself is a charming place with a rich history. The Mediterranean climate on the Amalfi Coast is ideal for sailing and offers optimal conditions for an unforgettable sailing experience. In the summer months from June to September the weather is warm and sunny, with average temperatures between 25°C and 30°C. The breeze from the Mediterranean ensures pleasant sailing conditions and allows the sailboats to glide effortlessly over the turquoise waters. Spring and autumn are also ideal for sailing activities as the weather is pleasant and temperatures range between 15°C and 25°C. During these seasons the winds are often moderate and offer good sailing conditions. The Amalfi Coast is known for its stable winds that make sailing a pleasant and relaxing experience.
The winds on the Amalfi Coast are known for their consistency and balance. The Maestrale, a north-west wind, often blows in the afternoon during the summer months and provides a refreshing breeze. The Scirocco winds from the south-east can occasionally occur and bring humid air with them. However, they also ensure exciting sailing conditions and a welcome change. So the best time to sail the Amalfi Coast is from April to September. During this period, temperatures are comfortably warm and the weather is generally stable.

Day 1: Salerno - Positano (15 Nautical miles)
Start your sailing holiday in Salerno and sail along the coast to Positano. Positano is known for its scenic beauty and charming atmosphere. Spend the day exploring the narrow streets, admiring the colourful houses and enjoying the breathtaking sea views.
Day 2: Positano - Amalfi (10 Nautical miles)
Continue your journey and sail to Amalfi, a historic city with a rich maritime tradition. Visit the imposing Cathedral of Amalfi and explore the winding streets of the old town. Enjoy a refreshing swim in the crystal clear waters and relax on one of the beautiful beaches.
Day 3: Amalfi - Maiori (8 Nautical miles)
On the third day you'll sail on to Maiori, a charming seaside town with a long sandy beach and promenade. Take a walk along the coast and taste the delicious local specialties in one of the restaurants. Visit the Church of Santa Maria a Mare and explore the historic old town.
Day 4: Maiori - Ravello (4 Nautical miles)
From Maiori it's a short sail to Ravello, a picturesque village high up in the mountains. Visit the famous gardens of Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo, which offer spectacular views of the coast. Immerse yourself in the city's rich culture and history and soak up the tranquil atmosphere.
Day 5: Ravello - Sorrent (20 Nautical miles)
On day five, continue your sailing journey and sail to Sorrento, a bustling town on the Gulf of Naples. Explore the charming old town with its narrow streets and the bustling main square, Piazza Tasso. Sample the region's famous lemon liqueur, limoncello, and enjoy views of Mount Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples.
Day 6: Sorrent - Capri (15 Nautical miles)
Depart Sorrento and sail to the island of Capri, a jewel of the Mediterranean. Enjoy the spectacular rock formations and explore the famous grottos, such as the Blue Grotto or the Green Grotto. Stroll along Capri's elegant shopping streets and visit the Garden of Augustus for stunning views of the sea.
Day 7: Capri - Salerno (20 Nautical miles)
On your final day, sail back to Salerno from Capri. Enjoy the last leg of your journey and say goodbye to the beautiful Amalfi Coast. Take the opportunity to collect last memories of the beautiful landscape, the charming villages and the warm hospitality of this region.
The most common and convenient way to get to the Amalfi coast from the UK is by plane. There are various direct flights from major cities in the UK (such as London Heathrow, Gatwick or Manchester) to the Naples International Airport, which is the closest major airport to the Amalfi coast. Once you arrive in Naples, you can either take a taxi, a bus, the train or a rental car to get to your sailing base. Tubber can also help you to arrange a transfer.
