Using Tubber, you can find several yachts and catamarans for rent in the Caribbean. Tubber has several reliable partners in this area, which allows us to let you board the plane without any worries. Due to our close relationships with the local parties, our offer is diverse and consistent.
The Caribbean Sea is the worldwide "go-to" sailing area with crystal clear water, pleasant temperatures and constant sailing conditions. The area is suitable for family sailing holidays and time-together activities. It is also a great offer for the adventurous sailor who wants to leave the beaten track. Sailing in the Caribbean is very diverse. Visit pristine bays that can only be reached by boat. You can, of course, also do a beautiful hike. Enter the jungle and visit highlights on the many islands to enjoy the vistas. Re-board there to find a lovely anchorage. Tip: The fact that an anchorage is not in the Cruising Almanac does not mean you cannot go there. Ask the base manager or consult the Navily app about the most beautiful places and what is allowed.
As mentioned before, sailing conditions are very consistent in the Caribbean. You can count on a constant easterly trade wind of 4 to 6 Beaufort. Sometimes you encounter a tropical rain shower, but fortunately, they are usually short-lived.
Due to the many reliable partners, Tubber offers sailing yachts and a multitude of catamarans with the best local service. It is possible to rent bareboat on almost every island in the Caribbean. Moreover, there is always the possibility to sail with a skipper and crew on board. We also organize beautiful one- and two-week flotillas in the British Virgin Islands. For sailing along, we offer all-inclusive sailing holidays on Martinique, Sint Maarten and Guadeloupe, among others. By renting a single or double cabin, you can board a beautiful catamaran that takes you along all the must-sees. Feet up and enjoy!
Many landlords of sailing yachts offer a shopping service that you can purchase online. However, stocking up at local shops is also possible and cheaper. The latter is often more exciting because of the many unknown products available. Get fresh bananas and oranges, enjoy international dishes or opt for the delicious local cuisine. Buy fresh fish from a fisherman and ask if he wants to prepare it in his way so that you will experience something unique!
Sailing in the Caribbean is not constant on the water. The islands have a lot to offer on land. As mentioned earlier, a hike in the jungle is highly recommended and provides a nice change. Furthermore, there are diving locations/schools on almost all islands, on Sint Maarten Divi Little Bay Beach Resort is an excellent diving school that takes you to the most beautiful places. You can also go horseback riding, rock climbing, kite surfing, windsurfing and much more.
Sailing in the Caribbean makes you end up in a different rhythm. Due to the relaxed 'laid-back' atmosphere on the islands, everything slows down. That gives you a different mindset than here in (rushed) England. Even with the constant weather conditions, you can play. The west side of the islands have moderate conditions and here you can find all the picturesque places, the east side invites you to sail a little harder.
Don't forget to visit the many beach bars/pirate bars. Here sailors from all over the world come together, creating a unique gathering. Drinking cocktails until the sun rises is more the rule than the exception.
The best time to go sailing in the Caribbean is from December to April, when the weather is dry and temperatures are warm. During this period, the winds are consistent and the seas are calm, making it an ideal time for sailing. This is also the high season for tourism in the Caribbean, so plan accordingly and book your trip in advance if possible. However, be aware that hurricanes can still occur during this time and it's important to monitor weather patterns and make informed decisions about your sailing plans.
