Primorje-Gorski Kotar County is a province in the West of Croatia. The province is located in the Kvarner area. It is located between Istria and Dalmatia and has clear sailing distances. Well known islands of the province are Krk, Cres, Lošinj and Rab. Krk is the second largest island in the Adriatic Sea and is connected to the mainland with a large brigde. The Krk island is predominantly green and has a beautiful rolling landscape. Cres is located in the nothern part of Kvarner and can be reached by ferry from Krk. Lošinj was formerly part of the island Cres, but is now cut by a canal. Lošinj has a dense vegetation and many pine trees.
The province has to offer a lot, for example beautiful historic locations, museums, religious sites, nature and parks, momuments and statues. One of the most visited historical site is the Lungo Mare. It is a breathtaking hiking route along the coast of Preluka to Lovran and is 12 kilometers long. Further in the mainland lies the beautiful Trsat castle with a breathtaking view.
