About the British Virgin Islands

The British Virgin Islands (BVI) is a not-too-crowded but beautiful sailing area. The combination of several islands with distances of only 1 or 2 hours of sailing and the stable winds makes this a perfect sailing area!

Sailing Along the British Virgin Islands
Great Weather for Sailing

Great Weather for Sailing

With stable temperatures of around 25 and 30 degrees, you know where you are. The climate on the British Virgin Islands is also called subtropical, with pleasant trade winds.

At night, the temperatures are not too high, making the evenings pleasant, and rainfall is minimal on the islands. The hurricane season in the BVI runs from July until the end of October.

BVI is nominated as one of the most popular sailing locations in the world due to its favourable climate!

With the almost always present trade winds, beautiful tropical sun, and the possibility of navigating by sight, the British Virgin Islands are a dream location for true sailing enthusiasts!

Beautiful blue water, a breathtakingly colourful reef, and, finally, the sea turtles. What makes it complete are the pearly white beaches, a cooling drink, and the numerous cosy beach bars.

The warm Caribbean trade winds - they are already there! Today you are going to Peter Island, which is the largest island of the BVI. Here you will find countless beautiful anchorages. Day 4

Leverick Bay - Anegada
Today you are going to Anegada - a unique island created by volcanic rock. The snorkel enthusiast certainly has something to experience here, namely the beautiful underwater world with coral and limestone. You can also explore the island. Go ashore at Setting Point where you can rent a car or scooter. If you want to encounter some rare animals, at Nutmeg Point, you have the opportunity to meet the rare rock iguanas and exotic birds that live on this island. By the way, don't forget to stop by the salt lakes and say goodbye to the flamingos. Also, enjoy the speciality of Anegada - we eat lobster tonight!

Day 7

Norman Island
There are still plenty of anchor spots to explore, or if you have an early flight, you can already return to the base. If you still have time, a visit to Norman Island is also an option. The underwater caves and secluded bays make this a perfect place to go snorkelling or diving. Are you looking for a beautiful place to have lunch? In this case, we recommend "The Indians". Also pay a visit to the Pirate’s Bight Beachbar, which is an essential part of your sailing vacation at the BVI.
