Combination of Towns and Beautiful Bays

Combination of Towns and Beautiful Bays

This flotilla sailing holiday from Marina Agana is perfect if you want to enjoy the south of Croatia for a week.

The starting location is perfectly accessible from Split airport if you would like to fly. If you wish to travel more environmentally conscious and take the car, you can combine this holiday with a short country holiday in Austria, Slovenia or the beautiful north of Italy. We often first travel to Slovenia to enjoy the beautiful nature and Slovenian cuisine for a day.

The Flotilla Guidance

Of course, a successful sailing holiday depends on the weather, the sun, the sea and the flotilla guidance. In addition to conviviality, safety is of course critical during the sailing holiday.

During the Krka flotilla, professional English-speaking guidance is available on the mothership, who are always ready for mooring and anchoring. These flotilla leaders may also be residents, but will always have good English language skills. In addition, they plot the route (with input from the participants) and monitor the weather for everyone. Of course, they enjoy it a lot themselves and are always looking forward to giving you a great experience in Croatia as well.

Boats in the Marina Agana.

Day 1

Check in at Marina Agana
Marina Agana is a typical Croatian fishing village, made up of traditional white stone houses surrounding a sparkling marina. Marina Agana is only a 20-minute drive from Split Airport. While waiting after check-in, guests can have lunch at one of the restaurants, stock up on supplies, or simply head to the beach with a coffee or cocktail.

Day 2

Marina Agana - Drvenik Veli
After a light breakfast briefing, sail out and get your crew accustomed to life on board - your first stop is just a short hop away (about 1 hour, 7 nautical miles). Enjoy swimming, exploring and sailing, then meet up with your crew in the tiny village of Drvenik Veli, on the island of the same name. Nearby you'll find a small sandy beach (a rarity in Croatia!) and the popular Blue Lagoon with its crystal-clear water.

Day 3

Drvenik Veli - Zlarin
Today (about 1.5 hours, 23 nautical miles) you sail to Zlarin, the only village on the small island of the same name, at the mouth of the Krka river. The island is famous for its tradition of coral harvesting - visit the small museum and coral jewellery shop dedicated to it. Cars are banned here, giving the island a special, tranquil charm. Just across the channel lies Prvić, home to a museum dedicated to Croatian inventor Faust Vrančić, the first person to jump with a parachute.

Day 4

Zlarin - Žirje
Get off the beaten track and sail (about 1 hour, 9 nautical miles) into the island-packed archipelago of Šibenik, all the way to the most remote island: Žirje. On its south side, the flotilla will raft up for the night among rugged bays, ideal for exploring, snorkelling, hiking and stargazing. A small restaurant further up the bay serves beautiful home-made cuisine with freshly caught fish and home-grown vegetables, and a short hike takes you to an old abandoned fortress.
Krka Falls National Park

Day 5

Free sailing day
The free sailing day is your chance to set your own agenda and explore the Adriatic on your own or with a small group of friends. Choose to spend the day exploring Krka National Park - one day barely seems enough, after all - or sail to the nearby islands of Zlarin or Prvić. Make the most of your free sailing day and take in the peaceful beauty of the Šibenik region. For those who want to rack up the miles, head into the Kornati Islands National Park and practise tacking and jibing between small islands and reefs.
Having fun eating together with the flotilla group in Rogoznica.

Day 6

Rogoznica
Meet your flotilla friends in the large, sheltered harbour of Rogoznica in time for a drink at a waterfront bar. Buy fresh fish straight from the local fishing boats as they arrive in port each morning, or get to know your flotilla companions over a pivo (beer).

Day 7

Rogoznica - Marina Agana
On the last day of your Krka flotilla holiday, you'll depart Rogoznica for Marina Agana (about 2 hours, 16 nautical miles). Sail south from Rogoznica, keeping the small atolls around Arkandžel Island to your port side, then turn north when you reach Drvenik Mali, skirting the headland until you arrive back at Marina Agana. Spend your last evening tasting a local peka meal with your flotilla friends at the prize-giving ceremony.
