Sailing in the Fethiye area is a great alternative to ports such as Marmaris or Bodrum. Fethiye is a pretty town on the Aegean coast, with beautiful ruins in the old part of town. Fethiye has a modern marina, which is hidden against the mountain slope. Fethiye is a good example of the ports in Turkey: they are clean and run by professional staff.
From Fethiye you sail short sailing trips to Gocek, Kalkan, Kas or Kekova Roads, known for the sarcophagi. The climate in Turkey is comparable to Greece, sometimes slightly warmer and with a dry summer. The wind force is between 4 and 6 Beaufort and the cooling breeze makes Turkey a wonderful place to sail!
The flotillas from Fethiye in Turkey operate from Saturday to Saturday. PLEASE NOTE: the Cold Water Bay flotilla and the Karacaören flotilla alternate every week from April 29, 2023, so it is very well possible to sail a two-week flotilla. You will not sail the same round twice, and on Saturday(in the middle of the two weeks), you are not obligated to sail back to Fethiye :)
During our route, we pass various harbors and bays, most of these places do not have an ATM, so it is helpful to make sure you have some cash. It is very hot in this area in the summer months, which means that you need to hydrate well. Pay close attention to this as well. Of course, something like a hammock is also very nice to relax in.
Mike and Debbie are a charming British duo. Together they have a wealth of experience, give extensive morning briefings, organize restaurant reservations and help in every way possible. They also know the area very . For years they have worked in this region and therefore know where to find all the fantastic places.
