Sailing Holiday With a Skipper - What's Included?

Where Does the Skipper Sleep?

During your sailing holiday, the skipper is available 24 hours a day and requires a cabin to rest. At Tubber, we work with you to arrange the cabin layout, ensuring the skipper has a comfortable space to recharge. This helps the skipper remain well-rested and energized to guide you through your sailing adventure.

If you have any questions about the skipper's role or the layout of the yacht, your dedicated Tubber shipmate is always ready to assist you.

Food and Drinks

During a sailing holiday with Tubber on board, participants typically prepare breakfast and lunch. For dinner, however, you have options: you can either stay on board and cook in the galley or enjoy the local cuisine at a shore-side restaurant. With Tubber, everything is possibl, it's your holiday, and you decide how to spend it.

Our yachts are equipped with an electric fridge and a fully furnished galley, allowing you to cook whenever you wish. Alternatively, you may choose from many taverns that offer good value for money in a cozy atmosphere. Everything is possible, and nothing is mandatory!

Expenses for food and drink, harbor fees, fuel, and other costs are covered by a communal fund known as the ship's kitty. All guests contribute to this fund, which is managed by the guests themselves. As is customary in the sailing world, the skipper is exempt from contributing.

What Time Can We Board?

At Tubber, we aim to ensure your sailing holiday goes smoothly, so we're happy to answer the question: What are the check-in and check-out times?

On the first day of your sailing holiday, you'll be greeted by our skipper with a refreshing drink. During the onboard introduction, you'll learn about water and electricity usage and discuss the sailing itinerary. Officially, you can embark from 17:00 on the arrival day. Sometimes, earlier boarding might be possible if the yacht is ready. It's best to check with the skipper upon arrival.

On the last day of your rental period, you should return to the marina by 6:00 p.m. on Friday (a day before the disembarkation day), after which the yacht is checked out. On Saturday, you should vacate the yacht by 09:00. This allows us sufficient time to clean and prepare the yacht for the next renters.

Also, bring swimwear, sunscreen, a hat or cap, and sunglasses. Don't forget a windproof jacket and sturdy shoes. - Carry luggage in a duffel or soft bag due to limited storage space. - Leave most jewelry at home to avoid loss. - Bring valid travel documents and a health card. - Don't forget snorkeling gear, a fishing rod, or a hammock for the boat. - If you're a student, remember your student ID as you might get local discounts for museums and sometimes even on harbour fees.
