Remote sailing destinations full of adventure

Even in the 21st century, there are places on the planet where few people go. What about those remote sailing destinations full of adventure? Some of the most remote places on the planet are islands so far from the mainland that they are sometimes easily forgotten by the rest of the world. This list of five beautiful remote places is just a sample of dozens that could be mentioned. All the islands are fascinating places that continue to surpass the fantasies of adventurers and explorers.

French Polynesia

French PolynesiaFor golden beaches, exotic seas and beautiful vegetation, no place is better than French Polynesia. It consists of five groups of islands, of which Tahiti and Bora Bora are the most famous. If you go to this part of the world, you have a whopping 770 miles of coastline to sail along. So plenty to explore!

Phuket, Thailand

Phuket ThailandThe Phuket area is a real gem on this planet and should not be missed. The island of Khao Phing Kan, is part of a small island cluster of about 13 nautical miles. Many islands also have a hollowed-out centre that you can reach by swimming to it, taking a dinghy or walking through a cave entrance. The hollowed-out area is called Hong and is truly spectacular to see.

Some options to rent a sailing yacht in Thailand are the Bavaria or a Catamaran.

Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

This famous but small archipelago in the Eastern Pacific is very remote. This area attracts people from all over the world to see for themselves why Darwin studied the theory of evolution right here. Namely: because of its legendary abundance of wild rare animals. You can find blue-footed boobies, giant tortoises as well as penguins and sea lions.

Demand for moorings here is high, making an expedition the best way to explore the 19 islands. Snorkel or dive during the day while sailing around the volcanic islands and occasionally come ashore to see the insane diversity in flora and fauna.

Whitsundays, Australia

Whitsundays AustraliaThe Whitsundays region of Australia is home to the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Which should be enough to tempt you with a visit. It is, after all, one of the seven wonders of the world. With colourful fish, incredible coral gardens and an abundance of spectacular diving opportunities, every day you spend here will be extraordinary.

The next step is to choose which type of boat you want to travel on. From Bavaria Cruisers to a Dufour and the Beneteau. There are plenty of options to choose from.

Azores, Portugal

Azores PortugalUntouched by tourism, the Azores are a collection of picturesque volcanic islands located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. They are the perfect stop on a transatlantic crossing but are also a beautiful destination in their own right.

Tubber also offers a wide range of boats for the Azores: from a Dufour to a Sun odyssey.
