Day 1: The base at Wickhams Cay II
It is about twenty minutes from the airport to the charter base at Wickhams Cay II (Tortola). Do some final shopping at the shops/market or enjoy the restaurants, swimming pool and shower facilities at the port.
Then you can board for your first evening on the yacht. The next morning, you will meet the flotilla leader and fellow flotilla sailors. The adventure can begin.
Day 2: From Road Town to Norman Island
Set course for Norman Island in the southernmost part of the sailing area. The story goes that Norman Island inspired ‘Treasure Island’, the classic pirate story written by Robert Louis Stevenson.
There are beautiful secluded coves here that are ideal for snorkelling and diving among the underwater caves. As a lunch spot, The Indians is a good place. A visit to Pirate's Bight beach should definitely not be missed on your BVI holiday!
Day 3: From Norman Island to Cooper Island
Cooper Island is one of the smaller islands in the southern part located under Sir Francis Drake Channel. The big attraction is the Cooper Island Beach Club, the reason why many return to this spot. You can have great seaside dining, sunset cocktails and relax with the other flotilla sailors.
On day four, you sail past granite cliffs, clear blue bays and hidden caves near The Baths as you sail towards the beautiful Leverick Bay Resort & Marina. Action-loving sailors can indulge in jet skiing, windsurfing, kiteboarding and more. East of the marina, there is a quiet anchorage at Leverick Bay.
Time to leave Leverick Bay and sail 13 nautical miles towards the low-lying coral-rich island of Anegada. This island was formed from volcanic rock.
A very rich marine life can be found here and ashore you can catch a glimpse of rare rock iguanas and exotic birds at Nutmeg Point. At the salt ponds, you can spot flamingos. In the evening, enjoy a delicious lobster dinner!
Next stop: Beef Island. Cruise along the picturesque shores of Trellis Bay.
Take a mooring and replenish food supplies at the local market if needed. On the island, there are several shops to explore. Over a leisurely lunch with glittering views of the bay, you can try local Caribbean dishes.
Day 7: Free sailing day
Today you can explore the sailing areas of the British Virgin Islands at your own pace. Trellis Bay offers the opportunity to explore lesser-known spots with your fellow sailors. At the pool on Scrub Island, you can enjoy some luxury.
Monkey Point on Guana Island is a fantastic snorkelling spot. You can also explore the many sights at The Dogs. Today, you decide the sailing route!
Day 8: Cane Garden Bay
You will meet your fellow sailors again in beautiful Cane Garden Bay, on the northern side of Tortola. Enjoy the beautiful views over a bite to eat and a drink at Myett's or the other quaint eateries along the beach. Cane Garden Bay is Tortola at its best and it is not hard to see why it is such a popular anchorage among sailors.
Sail west to the pearly white beaches of Jost Van Dyke, the smallest of the four main islands. There are many cute beach bars here such as Foxy's Tamarind Bar and the Soggy Dollar Bar. The island is also ideally suited to hiking.
Day 10: Free sailing day
The tenth flotilla day is a free sailing day. You are free to sail where you want before rejoining the flotilla at Peter Island. Here, enjoy the popular Willy-T, a floating bar.
Day 11: Peter Island
After a day enjoying freedom on the clear blue Caribbean waves. Enjoy the whole day on Peter Island. You have excellent snorkelling spots here and you can swim with green sea turtles at Deadman's Bay.
Take a hike to the island's highest point for spectacular panoramic views. During the hike, you may encounter wild goats.
Day 12: From Peter Island to Marina Cay
Marina Cay is known for its colourfully painted buildings and several Pusser's rum establishments. The patio restaurant is an ideal lunch spot. Take a picturesque walk along the beach or go snorkelling in Cam Bay.
Day 13: Free sailing day
After the many hours of sailing, the last two days of the British Virgin Islands flotilla have now arrived. You may spend the days however you like.
Divers are sure to enjoy a visit to Salt Island. Here you can explore the sunken wreck of the Rhone. You can shop, swim, walk etc. Spanish Town has a big market and there are also many restaurants and places of interest. Enjoy these days to the full!
Day 14: Back to base
Unfortunately, the last day of the flotilla is already here. We return to the base on Wickhams Cay II, where the sailing adventure began a fortnight ago.
