Sailing Route: Lycian Coast, Turkey

We have put together an ideal 6-day sailing itinerary for you to explore and enjoy the entire Lycian coast.

Day 1 - Arrival in Fethiye

Explore the idyllic old town of Fethiye with shops and a seaside restaurant. Climb the rock tombs while you are here, see the ancient tombs and look out over the bay. Head to Fethiye's market for fresh, local fruit and vegetables. At the market, you should also try Gözleme, a traditional Turkish flatbread.

Day 2 - Sarsala Creek

Take a dip in the clear waters of the bay or relax in a hammock. Head to the family restaurant for a tasty meal. Sarsala Creek also offers delicious, local honey that you should definitely try!

Day 3 - Cold Water Bay

Cruise across Cold Water Bay before entering the hidden bay. From the bay, a short walk will take you to an ancient Greek village. After viewing the ancient village, take a dip in the cool waters of the bay.

Day 4 - Tomb Bay

Tomb Bay is surrounded by ancient tombs and freshwater springs. Tomb Bay is a historic and peaceful place to spend a day. You can anchor as you dine at the restaurant, which offers local dishes as well as fresh seafood.

Day 5 - Ekincik

Head to Ekincik for a trip down the Dalyan river. Iztuzu beach, near the river, houses a sanctuary that protects Turkey's famous Loggerhead sea turtles. If you are lucky, you may see the turtles poke their heads above the water or catch a glimpse of their tracks on their way to the shore to lay eggs. You might be even luckier and get to swim alongside the turtles!

Day 6 - Marmaris

In Marmaris, visit the bazaar for souvenirs or take a traditional Turkish bath before dinner. This is the end point of your trip if you only stay a week. But if you stay longer than a week, there are plenty of other attractions! Head to Kumlu Buku with several restaurants, Turunc is a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts, or Gerbeske, home to a Byzantine trading post.
