Day 1: Visit to Dubrovnik and start from Komolac
The first day we start the sailing route in the small town of Komolac. From this quiet spot, it is a ten-minute drive to downtown Dubrovnik. Before boarding the yacht, this is an excellent time to visit Dubrovnik's beautiful palaces and fortresses. Besides, there are plenty of delicious restaurants to try out, for example Azzurro, just outside the port. This restaurant is super regarded and highly recommended. The beautiful city centre with marble-paved alleys is great to see, and for a complete view of the city, take the cable car to the top of the mountain. Does the city look familiar to you? It certainly could, as the city has often been used as a film set for the TV series “Game of Thrones”. Dubrovnik is the city of “Kings Landing” in this series.
Day 2: Sailing from Dubrovnik to Sudurad
The beautiful old port of Dubrovnik is the starting point of this culinary flotilla. We set sail on the clear waters of the Adriatic. Northwards, the flotilla departs towards Šipan a large and dense island. During the sailing route, there are several beautiful beaches to stop off on. Finally, the flotilla ends up in Sudurad. The moorings for this first night are nicely sheltered and quiet. Sudurad has a very beautiful sixteenth-century tower that you can visit. The tower was built at the time to protect the town from the pirates that were active in this region. From the town, you can walk to the Daničić family's vineyard in ten minutes. Here you can take a tour of the vineyard and taste the award-winning Plavac Mali from the year 2013.
Day 3: Sailing from Sudurad to Trstenik
From Sudurad, the sailing route continues northwest along the coast of Pelješac. The culinary journey takes us to the town of Trstenik, one of the oldest inhabited places on the island. The water at this place is incredibly clear and is dé place for a nice swim. For wine lovers, this is a perfect location to try another Plavac Mali at a waterfront restaurant. With a delicious wine and a perfect view, this is a great place to hang out. In the evening, there is time to visit the winery of the Matuško family. This family is known for their famous Dingač wine, which must be tasted.
Day 4: Sailing from Trstenik to Lumbarda
The next day you will sail your yacht to Lumbarda, a small fishing village. On the way, you will pass beautiful beaches and mountains. These beautiful spots are a good excuse to stop and take a dip in the lovely waters. The beautiful secluded beaches offer great views. After enjoying the incredible views, the wine flotilla arrives in Lumbarda. This place is known for their aromatic wine “Grk Bijeli”. In the evening, there is plenty to taste. With an excursion, you will taste everything the area has to offer. The winery Bire will introduce you to their fine products such as smoked ham, goat cheese, and their homemade pasta. With all these delicacies come good wines from the region. Here, enjoy the good food and a glass of Grk and the Plavac Mali.
Day 5: Sailing from Lumbarda to Mljet
Sailing is freedom, the freedom to go wherever you want. This day in the wine flotilla is all for yourself. Go exploring, find the most beautiful beaches and bays. Go back to a place you've been before and didn't really want to leave. There are plenty of pearls to be found in the beautiful Adriatic Sea area. Of course, the flotilla leaders can always help you with the sailing itinerary for inspiration or point out their own perfect spot. It's entirely up to you.
Day 6: Sailing from Mljet to Cavtat
After a beautiful day of sailing, the culinary wine flotilla arrives together at Cavtat. A small coastal town about thirteen nautical miles from Dubrovnik. The place is beautiful with lots of cultural heritage, there is something to see everywhere. In terms of food, you won't go wrong here either. The many eateries offer typical Dalmatian dishes and are really recommended to try. After a day of sailing there is nothing better than enjoying good food, the freshly caught fish, local vegetables and fresh olive oil make for a delicious meal. After dinner, there is much to admire in this town such as, for example, the birth house of Croatiaë s most famous painter, Bukovac. The house is partly known for its architecture, its garden and its central location in Cavtat.
Day 7: Sailing from Cavtat to Dubrovnik
The last day of this sailing itinerary you will sail back to base in Dubrovnik. On the way back, there are still many sights to visit. For example, the island of Lokrum has the impressive Benedictine monastery. Then sail on to Lopid to enjoy lunch on the beach of Šunj or Misty. These are great beaches and they can only be reached by yacht, this is because the island is car-free. There are also a few things to see at the Dubrovnik terminus, for example go and have a look at the establishments in Dubrovnik's Old Town. To round off this culinary journey, go and enjoy a Croatian wine one more time and you can look back on a great trip in which you have seen, experienced and tasted a lot. What a beautiful Croatia is!
