Boat rental platform Tubber has raised a follow-on investment to realise its further growth ambitions and internationalisation. With this, the Groningen-based scale-up aims to further expand its market share in countries where it already operates. In addition, Tubber will expand to other countries, including the UK, Germany and Scandinavië.

Tubber gets support from investor Marnix van der Ploeg, former Booking.com expert, for rapid international growth

New investor Marnix van der Ploeg, who was involved in Booking.com's international success in more than 50 different markets: “Tubber has everything it needs to grow rapidly internationally. As with Booking.com at the time, scalability and ambition are central to all aspects of Tubber's business. And those two elements together, are the ideal combination for rapid growth.”, said the brand-new investor in Tubber.

Existing investors Move Fast Ventures and G-Force Capital also join in follow-on investment

In addition to Van der Ploeg, Move Fast Ventures and G-Force Capital, the two parties who had been on board for some time, have also made a follow-on investment. Fund manager of G-Force Capital Niek Huizenga on this move: “The combination of a strong team and experienced investors is going to ensure that Tubber becomes the best platform for boat rentals and unforgettable sailing holidays”

Tubber's innovative booking system offers more than 16,000 boats worldwide

Through Tubber's innovative booking system, active since 2010, more than 16,000 boats can be booked in more than 750 destinations worldwide. Here the focus is around the Mediterranean, but in addition, boats are available in, for example, the Caribbean.

CEO Tessa de Vries: "Time to cross borders and accelerate international growth"

CEO of Tubber Tessa de Vries on the investment round: “In recent years, Tubber has become the absolute market leader in the Netherlands. Now it's time to cross the border. We've worked very hard behind the scenes to scale the organisation and automate processes, without sacrificing customer experience and service. After the Corona period, the demand for our unique boating holidays boomed, including in other countries. Together with our team and thanks to these investors, we are more than ready to further accelerate our international growth.”
