The English Flotilla Guidance

Of course, a successful sailing holiday depends on the weather, the sun, the sea and the flotilla guidance. In addition to conviviality, safety is of course crucial during the sailing holiday.

During the Vis flotilla, professional English-speaking guidance is available on the mothership, who are always ready for mooring and anchoring. These flotilla leaders may also be residents, but will always have good English language skills. In addition, they plot the route (with input from the participants) and monitor the weather for everyone. Of course, they enjoy it a lot themselves and are always looking forward to giving you a great experience in Croatia as well.

Day 1

Check in in Marina Agana
Marina Agana is a typical Croatian fishing village, made up of traditional white stone houses surrounding a sparkling Agana marina. Marina Agana is only a 20-minute drive from Split Airport. While waiting for boarding after check-in, guests can have lunch at one of the restaurants, stock up on supplies or simply head to the beach with a coffee or cocktail. Get ready for an exciting trip to Krka National Park.

Day 2

Marina Agana - Rogoznica
Sail west from Marina Agana and follow the coastlines of the alluring Dalmatian coast. It doesn't take long before the narrow bay and the spacious marina of Rogoznica open up to you. Moor in the sheltered harbour and stroll along the town's long promenade, or relax with a refreshing drink at a waterfront bar. A longer walk takes you to Dragon's Eye - a salt lake where you will meet many youngsters jumping off cliffs; or to the lavender garden at the top of the small hill.
Krka Waterfalls National Park.

Day 3

Rogoznica - Skradin
One of the highlights of the Vis flotilla holiday is scheduled for day three. Here you will cruise up the Krka River towards Skradin and the Krka Waterfalls National Park. Enjoy the scenery as you lead your yacht from Rogoznica along the coast and into the mouth of the Krka River, passing the picturesque town of Šibenik along the way. Skradin is the gateway to Krka National Park, so buy a national park ticket and take a boat further upstream to see the park's famous waterfalls. Make sure to go for a swim near Skradinski Buk - arguably the most beautiful waterfall in Krka.

Day 4

Free sailing day
Your first free sailing day couldn't come at a more perfect time. Choose to spend two or even three nights in the spectacular Krka Waterfalls National Park, discover the enchanting Krka River, hike the forest trails or take boat trips to the islands and monasteries of the park. Cycling around the Krka River can also turn out to be an adrenaline-packed day trip. While in Skradin, you can also visit the local winery a short drive away to sample different types of wine they produce.

Day 5

Free sailing day
The Krka Waterfalls National Park may be one of the most beautiful places in Croatia, but there is even more to discover in the region. Sail south from the Krka River to discover the charming islands of the Šibenik archipelago. The sleepy coves are filled with mooring buoys and local seaside restaurants, but there are also small towns such as Prvić, with its interesting museum, or Kaprije, which will show you the full meaning of the Croatian word "laganini" (take it easy). If you'd rather sail a few more miles, head to the beautiful Kornati Islands National Park, with its spectacular cliffs, deserted beaches and rare wildlife. Do not forget to buy a ticket for your yacht and respect this protected area.

Day 6

Zlarin
The fleet reunites in the small town of Zlarin on the island of Zlarin, located at the mouth of the Krka River. Known for its red coral jewellery, Zlarin is completely car-free for a truly old-fashioned feel. Enjoy the feeling of travelling back in time on pristine Zlarin. Also, try to remember that this island is plastic-free, so go green with the locals.
Maslinica town on Šolta island.

Day 7

Zlarin - Maslinica, Šolta
Point your bow to the east and sail back along the coast, passing Rogoznica and the Drvenik Islands. Keep the Drvenik Islands on your port side as you approach the green and beautiful Šolta. On Šolta's western shore, you'll find the small town of Maslinica with its atoll-studded bay. Swim from the town's beaches and swim platforms, or enjoy a meal in a local "konoba" with your new flotilla companions.
Komiža town on Vis island.

Day 8

Maslinica - Komiža, Vis
Depart Maslinica early for an exciting place to sail on blue waters as you make your way to distant Vis. Vis is the westernmost of the Dalmatian islands, so hope for strong winds as you aim your bow at this Adriatic gem. Head to the west coast of Vis, where the traditional town of Komiža awaits in a wide and sheltered bay. This beautiful hill-lined town is home to a unique waterfront castle and is a great place to try Vis' famous wine and seafood.

Day 9

Komiža - Vis town, Vis
Your next port of call is the capital of Vis. Cruise the north coast of the island for a shorter trip, or head south towards excellent beaches and the Green Cave. Moor in the quiet, sheltered harbour of Vis town for a welcome resting place after your long journey. Treat yourself to a delicious Dalmatian meal and some local wines, or arrange a wine tasting in the interior of the island when you arrive.
Pakleni islands and Hvar town at night.

Day 10

Vis town- Milna, Hvar
Sail northeast across the endless blue of the Adriatic Sea to the distant island of Hvar. You will pass the Pakleni Islands, where you can stop for a nice lunch break before continuing east to Milna. Not to be confused with Milna on the island of Brač. This is where the flotilla will go at a later time. Here you can snorkel in some of Croatia's clearest waters and enjoy hearty Dalmatian food in friendly local restaurants.

Day 11

Free sailing day
Use your last free sailing day to enjoy the freedom of the Adriatic. Explore the island of Hvar - maybe take a jeep safari tour, relax in one of the many beach clubs, or head to Sv. Nedelja for an underwater wine tasting, visiting some of the Croatian highlights that didn't make it to the Fish Flotilla Route. The nearby island of Sčedro and UNESCO-listed Stari Grad are within easy reach of Milna, but if you're having trouble deciding where to go, your lead crew can provide expert recommendations and the latest weather reports.
Jelsa town on Hvar island.

Day 12

Jelsa, Hvar
The flotilla reunites in the town of Jelsa, tucked into a narrow cove on the north coast of Hvar. Fall in love with the traditional atmosphere of picturesque Jelsa and enjoy the local seafood, said to be some of the best in Dalmatia. Wash it down with a bottle of delicious local wine for a truly indulgent evening ashore.
Milna town on Brač island.

Day 13

Jelsa - Milna, Brač
One of the large islands on the Dalmatian coast, Brač is a popular destination for visitors to Split and the city's permanent residents. A short cruise from Jelsa along the west coast of Brač takes you to the town of Milna. Explore Milna's many excellent shops and restaurants, or anchor in one of the many small coves west of town for snorkelling or swimming.

Day 14

Milna - Marina Agana
Make the short journey northwest across the Split Channel to our base in Marina. Soak up the culture and atmosphere of the Dalmatian coast, dine in a waterfront "konoba" in Marina Agana, or take a short taxi ride to Split. If you didn't get a chance to visit Split on the first day, don't miss a trip to the Dalmatian capital.
