In these three weeks we sail with our yachts along small typical villages of the Cyclades such as Skyro and Mpatsi. Furthermore, we look for beautiful bays where we anchor and spend the nights. In addition to the small towns and beautiful bays, we also visit a number of large cities, such as Skopelos, Mykonos and Ermoupolis. Dutch flotilla guidance

Of course, a successful sailing holiday depends on the weather, the sun, the sea and the professional flotilla guide. Next to conviviality, safety is of course very important during your sailing holiday. In Athens, the flotilla guidance for this flotilla is in Dutch. Every day you will receive an extensive briefing about the weather, the route and the nice places where you can have lunch or go swimming. There is no fixed flotilla guide during these weeks, so that can vary, but they're all looking forward to giving you a great experience in Greece!

Day 1

Day of arrival
Today everyone from the flotilla arrives in Lavrio. We won't start sailing yet today, but everyone can check in and everything is explained about the yachts. There is also time to explore the city and we get to know the whole group. Along with the introduction, there is also the first briefing of the flotilla leadership. The guidance will tell you what we are going to do in the coming weeks and what we can expect. Tonight we sleep on our yachts for the first time.
Sailing at Ormos Makropoulo, a beautiful large bay.

Day 2

Lavrio – Ormos Makropoulo
The first day on our yachts! We start with a short distance today, so everyone can get to know their yachts. We sail from Lavrio to Ormos Makropoulo, a beautiful large bay. The bay is surrounded by hills and has beautiful white beaches. In the evening we eat fresh fish directly on the beach and we enjoy the holiday feeling that really getting started now.
The island of Evvia with many hills and forests

Day 3

Ormos Makroloulo – Panagia
Today we leave for the second largest island of Greece, Evoia. The trip is slightly longer than yesterday, but after about 25 nautical miles we arrive at the island of Evoia. The island has many hills and forests, in winter you can even ski there. We sail with the boats of the flotilla to Panagia and dive into the wonderfully warm water.
Part of the harbor in the town of Evvia with multiple types of boats on the side

Day 4

Panagia - Eretria
We leave Panagia behind and sail today to Eretria. The route we are now sailing is between Evoia and the mainland of Greece. Due to these circumstances, the waters are calm and there are hardly any waves. Fortunately there is a good wind and we sail through this day. Eretria is a bustling and also touristic spot on Evoia. There are many bars, shops, terraces and restaurants here. In the evening we eat delicious fresh fish that are delivered here daily by the fishermen.
The bridge between Eretria and Chalkida connecting Evvia to the mainland

Day 5

Eretria – Chalkida
Today we leave Eretria and sail to the other side of Evoia towards Chalkida. To get here you have to sail under the big bridge that connects Evoia to the mainland. The bridge is very large and does not need to be opened. Later we have to pass under a bridge around 0.00 am that has to be opened. This must be at 0.00 because this bridge only opens once a day. Before we sail on to this bridge we first moor and have a bite to eat. When we have passed under the bridge we moor at Chalkida where we spend the night.
The port of Lautra Adipsou during the flotilla in Greece

Day 6

Chalkida – Loutra Adipsou
A longer route is planned for today, 35 nautical miles to be exact. Today we sail a nice stretch across the inland sea to the tip of Evoia . After a full day of sailing we arrive at Lautra Adipsou. According to many people, the water here has healing properties, this is due to the warm water that flows into the sea from sources here. After mooring we can look back on a beautiful day of sailing and enjoy this healing warm water ourselves.
Sailing yacht on open water

Day 7

Loutra – Orei
We set course for the next port, today Orei is on the schedule. Orei has a quay where almost everything is present. From the yacht you can walk to the bakery and supermarket in a few minutes. Would you like to go to the beach? But of course, this is also possible, with a 2 minute walk you are already on a beautiful sandy beach. Are these bits of walking too short for it? Then walk on to the next village, with a walk of fifteen minutes you are over.
Colored chairs at beach restaurant in Platania

Day 8

Orei – Platania
We have been on the road for almost a week and have already discovered a number of beautiful ports and nice towns. Today it won't be a harbour, but we will anchor in a beautiful bay. We sail to Orei, the last point of the mainland before our crossing. From the boats we sail to the shore to have something to eat in a cozy restaurant located on the beach. We enjoy our dinner with a beautiful view.
The illuminated harbour of Skiathos at night

Day 9

Platania – Skiathos
Today we start on the islands of the Sporades. Our first stop is Skiathos. We arrive at the harbor and step from our yachts onto the quay, which is a bit on the busy side. There are many places on the quay where you can eat well, which we will make full use of. With full bellies and satisfied we return to our yachts.
The famous little church from the movie 'Mamma Mia' in the town of Skopelos

Day 10

Skiathos – Skopelos
Who knows the white church from the movie “Mamma Mia”? Today we sail to Skopelos town where this world famous church is located. With a little luck and calm water you can even climb up and admire the church up close. Furthermore, Skopelos is a large city, slightly different from the small fishing villages and beautiful, but deserted, bays. The city has a bustling boulevard, countless restaurants and nice shops.
View from a sailing yacht on the water and the island of Kyra Panagia at sunset

Day 11

Skopelos – Kyra Panagia
The past two nights we have had enough hustle and bustle from the ports/cities, so tonight we will anchor nicely in a bay. From Skopelos town we sail to the island of Kyra Panagia. On this island there is a beautiful bay, and guess three times where we are going to lie. The bay where we anchor is Panormitis. This secluded bay gives you the feeling that you are alone in the world. Peace and quiet, a beautiful view, no telephone range and in the evening a great starry sky.
The bay between Kyra Panagia and Alonissos

Day 12

Kyra Panagia – Alonissos
After spending a night in Panormitis we are fully recharged. Today we visit some beautiful coves and beaches before mooring. The day is devoted to sailing, discovery and swimming. After one or three bays we sail on to Alonissos, here we moor our yachts and are the final destination for today. In the evening we look for a place to eat together.
The village on the high mountain on the island of Skyros

Day 13

Alonissos – Skyros
After a few days with less long sailing distances, we are going to make a nice trip today from Alonissos to Skyros (36 nautical miles). With the good wind here we can sail this distance in just under six hours. Arriving at Skyros we can already see the style of the Cyclades on the island. The beautiful white houses of the village, the center (Chora) which is at the highest point and a good harbour. A nice place to arrive.
The town of Kimi in the thickly forested mountains

Day 14

Skyros – Kymi
From beautiful Skyros we sail to beautiful Kimi. Kimi is a historic city, it is quite small and quiet in the harbour but this is because the city is a lot higher. The city is located about 250 meters above the harbor from where you have an amazing view. The city is located on what is called "the balcony of the Aegean sea".
Sunset over the harbour and the town of Batsi

Day 15

Kymi -  Mpatsi
Today the longest route is planned 57 nautical miles, we'll make the big crossing. Because we have a long trip, the briefing was already last night and we leave on time in the morning. Around sunrise we set course for Mpatsi. With mainly northerly winds, we sail over the water at good speed and experience real sea sailing.
View of the port of Tinos from the mountains

Day 16

Mpatsi – Tynos
After yesterday's trip, the distance is not so bad today. From Mpatsi we leave for Tynos . The route is full uphill sailing with a lovely wind. We can make nice speed here and because of the calm water you don't even have the feeling that you are shooting over the water. The harbor of Tynos is very spacious, which is nice because the wind here in the harbor is often a lot stronger than on the water. In the evening we make a nice beach walk and we end the second week of our adventure with a nice dinner.
View of the beach and harbour of Mykonos Town

Day 17

Tynos – Mykonos
Today we take it easy with the sailing, we sail a short distance to Mykonos. We leave on time and sail 8 nautical miles from Tynos to Mykonos to spend the day here. Mykonos is one of the most famous places in Greece. The city has beautiful streets, many stylish shops, great restaurants and many entertainment venues. It is a fantastic place to relax after our long sailing days.
The city of Ermoupolis in the mountains with a sailing yacht on the water in the foreground

Day 18

Mykonos – Ermoupolis
After our day in Mykonos we leave fully charged for Ermoupolis, another beautiful city but completely different. The city lies behind the long stretched harbor, the city has many large squares and marble is used in most places. This makes the city different from all other cities in the Cyclades, where the white houses and narrow streets are the characteristics. In the evening we go out for dinner at a good restaurant and enjoy a delicious dinner.
The beach of the village of Loutra during sunset

Day 19

Syros – Loutra
The past few days we have spent in big cities, time for some variety again. We exchange the large city of Ermoupolis for the small village of Loutra. The village is known for its hot spring, which flows onto the beach. We enjoy the rest of the afternoon on the beautiful beach and the lovely warm water. In the evening we eat fresh fish directly on the beach and we have a view of our yachts.
View of the water with sailing yacht from Kea

Day 20

Kythnos – Kea
Kea is our next destination, the last island before sailing back to Lavrion. After a not too long journey of about 20 nautical miles we arrive at Vourkari. Vourkari is our berth for this evening. With a beautiful view and peace and quiet around us, everyone can dream away here with the adventures made in mind. Tomorrow is the last day.
View of a large sailing yacht from Lavrio city side

Day 21

Kea – Lavrio
The last day of our three week flotilla has arrived, it is time to sail back to Lavrio. Fortunately, there is a short route on the program for this day, so we have plenty of time. In the afternoon we look for a beautiful bay where we anchor and where we have lunch on our yachts. Floating on it we enjoy all the beauty around us. We jump once more into the beautiful clear water and then prepare for departure. We sail our last miles back to Lavrio. After returning to Lavrio, we have one last meal together and talk about all the adventures of the past three weeks.
