Of course, a successful sailing holiday depends on the weather, the sun, the sea and the flotilla guidance. In addition to conviviality, safety is of course critical during the sailing holiday.

During the Lefkada flotilla, there's professional English-speaking guidance available on the mother ship, whom are always ready for mooring and anchoring. They also plot the route (with input from the participants) and keep an eye on the weather for everyone. There is no fixed flotilla guide in these weeks offered, so that can differ. However, they are all eager to give you a great experience in Greece.

Day 1

Check in at Lefkada
Your unforgettable flotilla holiday begins on mythical Lefkada - an island central to Greek mythology, especially Homer's Odyssey. Lefkada is known for its water sports, with windsurfing, kitesurfing and paragliding being particularly popular in the region. The old Venetian fortress of Agia Mavra is always worth a visit.
The small town of Vathi can be seen during the Flotilla in Lefkas.

Day 2

Lefkada - Vathi, Meganisi
Follow the breakwater out of the marina of Lefkada, past the small islet of Forti and into the Ionian Sea. The first leg of your flotilla journey takes you south along the length of the island of Lefkada to small, green Meganisi, which is believed to be part of the kingdom of Odysseus in Homeric mythology. The town of Vathi is home to one of the world's largest natural harbours and is a beautiful place to dock for the night. Hike through the wooded hills around Vathi for spectacular views over the Ionian Sea, or get to know your new flotilla friends at a local taverna while watching one of Greece's beautiful sunsets.

Day 3

Vathi - Vasiliki, Lefkada
Sail from the crescent-shaped Meganisi Island to the south coast of Lefkada. Bypass the steep headland and head to the huge Vasiliki Bay. Despite the natural beauty of the region, Vasiliki is known for only one thing: windsurfing. Strong thermal winds (known locally as an 'Eric') ensure Vasiliki offers one of the best windsurfing opportunities in all of Greece. However, if you prefer land-based thrills, mountain biking in the hills surrounding the city is great fun and offers unmissable views.

Day 4

Vasiliki - Fiscardo, Kefalonia
It is a straight line from Vasiliki Bay to the famous island of Kefalonia. Enjoy a few miles of exciting open-water sailing as you head to one of Greece's most famous islands, best known for Captain Corelli, olive oil and ancient history. The port of Fiscardo is a traditional Greek island village with a history dating back thousands of years. Today, Fiscardo is home to many fine restaurants and tavernas where you can spend a quiet afternoon with your new friends.

Day 5

Fiscardo - free sailing day
Now that you've had time to familiarize yourself with your yacht and gain confidence on the water, a free day's sailing is your chance to explore the Ionian Sea at your leisure and find your own personal adventures independently or in small groups. From Fiscardo you can explore the numerous coves and beaches of sleepy Kefalonia, while a short drive across the Ionian Sea takes you to Ithaca, said to be the birthplace of Odysseus. Outside of Ithaca, the small and uninhabited Arkoudi and Atokos are great fun to explore. If you're not sure what to do with your day off sailing, your lead crew is on hand with top recommendations and the latest weather reports, ensuring you make the most of your leisure time.

Day 6

Abelike Bay
Abelike Bay on the north side of Meganisi is a large, natural bay that has hardly been touched by human hands. The undeveloped shores of Abelike Bay are free of the kind of amenities and facilities you would expect from the average sailing destination, and this is the charm of the place. Swim and snorkel in the warm waters of the bay without anyone disturbing you, and enjoy one last beachside barbecue with your newfound flotilla friends as the sun dips below the horizon. This unspoiled piece of paradise is the perfect location for one last blissful evening before returning to the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Day 7

Abelike Bay - Lefkada
Cruise through the undisturbed waters of Abelike Bay as you head north to our Lefkada base. Back in Lefkada, your last day is a chance to take in all the Ionian highlights you've missed so far, or just relax and soak up the atmosphere. Try one of the popular water sports of Lefkada. The fly fish seaplane is an adrenaline rush that will make you jump off the surface of the water like a rock. If you prefer a quieter, more zen-like climax to your flotilla holiday, walking through the wooded hills of Lefkada or enjoying a shot of ouzo in a quiet taverna is the perfect way to spend your last day in the Ionian Sea.

Day 8

Today is the last day of the Lefkada flotilla. If you fly at the end of the day, you can still explore Lefkada.
