With the Lefkas Hidden Harbours flotilla you discover the Ionian Sea from a different angle than usual. Instead of the well-known main stops, you sail to quieter, less touristy harbours: the traditional town of Palairos, the laid-back island of Kastos, and the picturesque hillside village of Kioni on Ithaca.
This relaxed itinerary includes a free sailing day, so you can decide for yourself where to go. That makes the route ideal for first-time sailors, families, and anyone craving freedom on the water, while an experienced lead crew and a sociable flotilla are always close by.
Palairos, Kastos, Ithaca and Meganisi
From the marina in Lefkas you head towards the Greek mainland to Palairos, an authentic harbour town where you still get a real taste of local life. Next you sail on to the tiny island of Kastos, home to just one village and crystal-clear bays that are perfect for snorkelling.
Via Ithaca, where you moor in the picture-perfect port of Kioni, day five is your free sailing day: head north through the Meganisi channel, explore a quiet anchorage near Kalamos or Arkoudi, or simply drop anchor for a lazy day of swimming and sunbathing. Your final night is spent in the peaceful Abelike Bay on Meganisi, surrounded by olive groves, before returning to Lefkas.
Sailing conditions on the Ionian Sea
The waters around Lefkas offer excellent sailing conditions: long, warm summers with a fairly constant wind of 3 to 5 Beaufort. That makes this area ideal for first-time sailors and families with children.
