The Count of Orsini built a beautiful fortress from the 14th century. He received Lefkada as a gift from the Franks. It's an excellent example of fortress architecture and still very well-preserved. Numerous cultural events take place in Agia Mavra during the summer, allowing visitors to experience the fortress from the inside.
