Helen & Harley

For those who haven't met them yet: Harley and Helen were our flotilla leaders in Croatia from 2018 to 2020.

Harley, with over 15,000 nautical miles to his credit, is a certified Yachtmaster and instructor for both sailing and powerboating. Helen also holds the Yachtmaster title, is a sailing instructor, and is even qualified to administer VHF exams. After their flotilla adventure, they have worked as skippers in various Nautilus sailing areas and have conducted sailing courses for the RYA in Europe and the UK, and most recently in Dubai.

Croatia is among their most favored sailing destinations. They are looking forward to returning to the Croatian flotilla this summer to revisit their favorite spots and restaurants and share these experiences with others.

Seget Donji Marina, Trogir
Start your sailing adventure at Marina Seget Donji in Trogir, equipped with amenities such as a restaurant, bar, minimarket, and washroom facilities. Moreover, you are just a stone's throw away, only a 10-minute drive, from the picturesque town of Trogir, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Rogoznica (North-16 nm) | Solta (South-9 nm)
North route: Marina Frappa enchants as an idyllic harbor located in an authentic fishing village. Kaprije Island (North-19 nm) | Komiza Town, Vis (South-25 nm)
North route: Kaprije, a car-free island of nearly 10 square kilometers, invites exploration on foot. Treat yourself to a delightful meal at one of the exquisite restaurants. South route: Immerse yourself in the charm of this traditional fishing village, steeped in history. With vineyards aplenty, it's the perfect opportunity to taste a glass of local wine!

Day 4

Skradin (North-18 nm) | Free Sailing (South-18 nm)
North route: A trip upstream to Skradin is a must. Be enchanted by an afternoon visit to the Krka waterfalls and the associated national park. South route: Give yourself the opportunity to explore Hell's Islands. Don't be fooled by the name; the crystal-clear waters and secluded beaches, surrounded by pine trees, are truly heavenly! Given the short distance to Hvar, a visit to Hvar Town by water taxi is a delightful option, or choose to simply relax in your own slice of paradise!

Zlarin Island (North-11 nm) | Vela Garska, Hvar (South- 5 nm)
North route: Zlarin is known as the 'Golden Island' because of its pristine beauty. This small island is home to dreamy coves and sandy beaches. South route: Enjoy a captivating, tranquil bay where swimming, snorkeling, savoring food and drinks, and relaxing with friends and family are all part of the experience.

Solta (North-32 nm) | Stari Grad, Hvar (South-13 nm)
North route: An enchanting and picturesque island that offers the perfect tranquil holiday atmosphere. South route: One of the most historic towns in Europe. Lose yourself in the vibrant streets and be captivated by its rich history.

North & South route: The one-week flotilla concludes in Trogir with a farewell dinner. Participants of the two-week flotilla can opt for independent sailing before rejoining the flotilla on Sunday - Prvic Luka being a favored anchorage.

Where does the Trogir flotilla depart from?

The flotilla departs from Seget Donji, close to Trogir. Seget is easily accessible from Split Airport. From there, it's about a 15-minute drive to the marina by taxi. Tubber can assist in arranging this for you.

Do I need a license to participate in this flotilla from Trogir?

For the Tubber flotilla in Croatia, you don't always need a valid boating license (depending on the charter company), but we do expect you to have sufficient experience in skippering a sailing yacht. However, the regulations are becoming stricter each year, so we recommend obtaining your boating licenses 1 and 2 (ICC).

Can I also join on the mothership with this flotilla?

No, as of now, you cannot sail on the mother ship in the flotillas in Croatia. However, you can in the flotillas departing from Athens, Greece. For this, it's best to contact your Tubber sailing holiday expert directly.

Is the Trogir flotilla suitable for children?

Absolutely! The sailing conditions are very favorable, and the area is perfect for a bit of sailing, hitting a bay, and sailing again. Thus, it's ideal for sailing with (young) children! Flotilla groups always consist of a maximum of 10 boats. Additionally, there's plenty to do, and many a young adult can indulge in the numerous nightlife options.

What are the average daily distances of the Trogir flotilla?

The average daily distances during the Trogir flotilla range between 10 and 20 miles. However, this is always subject to weather conditions and the wishes of the group.

Is it better to fly or drive to Trogir?

You can either fly or drive to Trogir. The airport is a 15-minute drive from Trogir and the marina of the flotilla.

Can I park my car for free?

No, you cannot park for free here as in Zaton. Parking is available at the marina for about twelve euros per day. Next to the harbor, it averages five euros per day.

Do I sail independently in a flotilla or always with the group?

In the flotilla, you sail with the comfort and ease of an experienced mother ship; you are not expected to constantly sail in a group. Feel free to take a dip in a bay you discover on your own.
